There are a lot of websites that review movies. We know that. There are even more that review DVDs. We know that. There is even one that has a listing for
the cast and crew of practically every film ever made. We know that too. However, there hasn't been a movie review website or DVD review website that covers
all the bases. Roger Ebert's site only goes so far back in time. DVDFile.com and TheDigitalBits.com have cut down on their review output significantly, and many
older films are swept under the rug.
At the same time, the existing critics are older men and women, and are generally out of touch with today's audiences. We're sorry to all you professional
filmophiles writing for papers and talking on television, but "The English Patient" stank and "Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon" wasn't all you critics hyped it up to
be. Thanks for compelling us to see mediocre films. That's where we come in. We'll tell it to you like it is. We focus on the movies themselves. Not the special
features on the DVD, the video quality, the dynamic audio range or any of that techno crud. What's important is the film itself. Is it worth your time and your
money?
Sure, Jet Li's "Hero" might have had some poetic, existential meaning, but it's plain boring and when a critic doesn't warn you and instead calls it simply,
"Amazing," that's denying you all the facts. The consumer looks to a critic for the low-down, and we'll deliver. And we're not just delivering films from last week,
but last year, last decade, the last half-century and beyond. Surprise, surprise folks. You'll discover that most films now aren't half as entertaining as films made
years ago, but no one wants to tell you about those. They want you to pay ticket prices instead of rental fees.
Stick with us and put this site in your favorites. Heck, make this your homepage. With daily review updates, current film reviews, a massive ever-growing archive
of older films, Jon's witty and irreverent repartee and weekly and monthly features, there's always something to get excited about at French Bros. Reviews.
AND NOW A LITTLE BIT ABOUT WHO WE ARE, SO YOU KNOW WE'RE NOT HACKS...
